JASON MUNDY WANTED IN CHELTENHAM AND CRICKLADE AFTER THIRD BREACH OF SEX OFFENDER CONDITIONS
In March 2017, authorities issued a warrant for the arrest of Jason Mundy, a 21-year-old sex offender who has repeatedly failed to comply with the conditions of his suspended sentence.Mundy, who was previously residing on White Horse Road in Cricklade and has since moved to Rotunda Terrace in Cheltenham, has now breached the terms of his supervision for the third time, prompting law enforcement to take decisive action.
Jason Mundy was convicted in Swindon last April for engaging in sexual activity with a child under the age of 13.
His sentencing included a nine-month prison term that was suspended for two years, coupled with strict conditions such as supervision and the requirement to complete 250 hours of unpaid work.
Additionally, Mundy was subject to a sexual harm prevention order, which imposed restrictions on his liberty and mandated that he register as a sex offender.
Despite these legal obligations, Mundy has admitted to breaching his sentence.
His legal representative, Alexander Daymond, informed Gloucester Crown Court that attempts to contact Mundy had been unsuccessful.
Daymond stated that he had called the three phone numbers listed for Mundy, but all calls had gone to voicemail, and he had received no response from the defendant.
In response to Mundy’s failure to appear in court, Judge Jamie Tabor QC issued a warrant for his immediate arrest.
The judge expressed frustration, remarking, “His head might have gone in the sand,” indicating that Mundy was possibly avoiding accountability.
During his previous court appearance, Judge Tabor had warned Mundy that his approach to the situation appeared to be some sort of voluntary avoidance, emphasizing that this was not how the legal process functions.
The ongoing breaches and lack of cooperation have now led to the serious step of issuing a warrant, highlighting the ongoing concern for public safety and the importance of enforcing the conditions placed on sex offenders.
