CHELTENHAM MAN ERIC PEARCE JAILED FOR ASSAULT AND CRIMINAL DAMAGE

Eric Pearce, aged 25, from Pates Avenue, St Peters, Cheltenham, was involved in a series of violent assaults and criminal activities.

The court heard that on March 28, 2020, Pearce, under the influence of drugs, reacted angrily after his partner washed his jumper incorrectly.

He punched her in the back of her head and followed with insults, before punching a hole in her door and spitting in her face and eyes.Following the assault, Pearce left but later returned in her vehicle, which he had taken without her consent, and caused further trouble by shouting and threatening to kick her door when she refused to open it.

He was found with cannabis in the vehicle, and his fingerprints matched those found on a bag of drugs involved in the incident.

Pearce was also involved in ongoing harassment, including social media threats and following her in a moped.

The court sentenced Pearce to a total of 18 months in custody, comprising 10 months for recent offences and an 8-month suspended sentence activation.

He was also banned from driving for 12 months from his release date.

The judge highlighted Pearce's previous convictions for violence and his long history of criminal behavior, condemning his recent and past actions as a shocking assault and criminal conduct.
