JAMIE JAMES AKA KINCHIN WANTED IN TROWBRIDGE AND SWINDON AFTER COURT NO-SHOW
In January 2013, authorities issued a warrant for the arrest of Jamie James, also known as Kinchin, following his failure to appear in court on the scheduled date. The warrant was issued by Judge Douglas Field at Swindon Crown Court after James did not attend the hearing, which was convened to address his ongoing failure to comply with court-mandated conditions.James, a 20-year-old man formerly residing on Broughton Road in Trowbridge, was under a two-year community order imposed in February of the previous year. This order was a consequence of his admission to engaging in sexual activity with a girl under the age of 16. The court had placed him on this community order as part of his sentence, which also required him to register as a sex offender for a period of five years.
Despite the initial compliance, James was found to have breached the terms of his community order in May of the same year. The breach was identified when he failed to attend a scheduled appointment with his probation officer. At that time, James claimed that he had been staying at a friend’s house and, as a result, had not received the letter informing him of his appointment. Consequently, he was instructed to complete ten sessions of an education, training, and employment program to address his breach.
Further complications arose when James failed to attend his first scheduled session, which was part of his mandated program. His absence was attributed to his claim of not having received the notification, which he said was due to him not having the letter. This failure to comply led to additional court sanctions, including the requirement that he register as a sex offender for five years. However, his ongoing non-compliance and failure to attend court proceedings prompted the judge to issue a warrant for his arrest, with no bail granted.
Earlier in the proceedings, James’s initial sentencing hearing had to be postponed because he did not attend a scheduled pre-sentence report appointment with his probation officer. When questioned about his absence, he reportedly told the court, “I forgot,” which further underscored his disregard for the court’s orders and the seriousness of his obligations. The authorities are now actively seeking James in connection with his failure to appear and comply with the court’s directives, with a particular focus on locating him in the Trowbridge area and surrounding regions.
