TROWBRIDGE MAN HANDED SUSPENDED SENTENCE FOR STALKING
A man named Simon Anteney, aged 35, from Yarnbrook Gardens in Trowbridge, has been given a 20-month suspended prison sentence after he admitted to stalking a woman.
The Bournemouth Crown Court sentenced him on Monday following his guilty plea in November last year.
Wiltshire Police reported that Anteney engaged in behaviors such as sending messages and gifts to the woman, visiting her home and workplace, and also contacted her family members.
Additionally, he created false email accounts to continue messaging her.
As part of his sentence, he received a five-year restraining order, was ordered to complete 150 hours of unpaid work, and 20 days of rehabilitation.
Local criminal investigator Dawson commended the victim's bravery and emphasized the seriousness with which the police take stalking, stating that Wiltshire Police are committed to responding strongly to reports of intrusive and obsessive behavior that impact people's lives.
