JAMES TOWER FROM CRAWLEY SENTENCED TO 14 YEARS FOR HORRIFIC CHILD SEX OFFENCES
In December 2018, a man from Crawley was handed a severe prison sentence after being found guilty of a series of heinous child sex offences.James Tower, aged 30 at the time, was convicted of committing a total of 17 sexual offences against a young girl who was under the age of 13.
The disturbing abuse began in 2016, when Tower started exploiting the girl, whose innocence was tragically compromised over a period of time.
His crimes remained undiscovered until June of that year, when the girl’s mother grew increasingly suspicious of her daughter’s behavior and decided to confront the situation directly.
It was this intervention that ultimately led to Tower’s arrest.
Authorities swiftly responded to the allegations, and he was taken into custody, facing multiple charges related to child sexual abuse.
During the legal proceedings, Tower did not deny the allegations but instead admitted to the offences.
His admission of guilt resulted in a conviction at Lewes Crown Court, where he was sentenced to a lengthy term of 14 years in prison.
The case has drawn significant attention due to the severity of the crimes and the betrayal of trust involved.
The sentencing underscores the seriousness with which the justice system treats crimes of this nature, especially those involving vulnerable children in Crawley and the surrounding areas.
