JAMES QUINTO BRUTAL SEX OFFENDER FROM BRIGHTON SENTENCED TO SEVEN YEARS IN PRISON

James Quinto, a 31-year-old man originally from Kingswood Street, Brighton, has been handed a significant prison sentence of seven years following his conviction on multiple serious sexual offences involving three young girls. The disturbing case spans over a decade, with the abuse reportedly beginning when the victims were as young as seven years old and continuing into their late teens, during Quinto’s early adulthood. The crimes, which took place between the early 2000s and 2010, only came to public attention in 2021, when one of the victims decided to report the abuse to the police after discovering that others had made similar allegations against Quinto. These allegations included claims of repeated rape when the victims were children, which prompted a thorough police investigation.

Following the investigation, authorities charged Quinto with a series of grave child sexual offences. The charges included the rape of a girl under the age of 13, six counts of penetrative sexual activity with a girl, four counts of assaulting a girl under 13 by touching, as well as additional counts of assault by penetration and sexual assault. The case was brought before Lewes Crown Court, where on 25 March 2025, Quinto was found guilty of six counts of penetrative sexual activity with a girl, two counts of assaulting a girl under 13 by touching, one count of assault by penetration, and one count of sexual assault. Notably, he was acquitted of the charges of rape and two other counts of assault by touching, which indicates that the jury or judge did not find sufficient evidence to convict him on those particular counts.

At a sentencing hearing held on 17 June 2025, the court sentenced Quinto to seven years in prison, reflecting the severity of his crimes and the impact on his victims. The case drew attention not only for the heinous nature of the offences but also for the bravery demonstrated by the victims, who came forward after years of suffering in silence. Detective Constable Hannah Elmer praised their courage, stating, “James Quinto’s victims have grown up with the trauma of his crimes, each having to come to terms with their experiences in their own way. They have shown incredible strength and determination to report him to the police and support this investigation. I know how challenging this has been for them, but thanks to their resolve, he has faced justice for his crimes.”

Authorities continue to urge survivors of sexual abuse to come forward at any time, emphasizing that help is available and that reporting incidents can be done via 101 or online. In emergencies, individuals are advised to call 999 for immediate assistance. The case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of listening to victims and ensuring that justice is served for those affected by such heinous acts.
