MAN CHARGED WITH STRING OF DOMESTIC ABUSE OFFENCES

James Porter, aged 39, made an appearance at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on 24 July.

According to Wiltshire Police, he faces charges including two counts of intentionally strangling someone, stalking with a fear of violence, and engaging in controlling and coercive conduct.

These allegations concern a female complainant and are said to have occurred between 1 October 2024 and 21 July 2025 in the towns of Trowbridge and Melksham.

Additionally, Porter is accused of driving under the influence of drugs in Bromham, possessing cannabis, and operating a vehicle without insurance or a valid license.

Porter, who resides on Church Walk, has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on 31 July.
