JAMES MILNER OF YORK SENTENCED AGAIN FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES

A businessman leading a double life has been sentenced to prison for a second time due to child-related sexual offences.

At York Crown Court, prosecutor Graeme Gaston revealed that authorities obtained a child's memory stick containing videos of James Edward Milner engaging in a sex act.

The evidence also included online conversations in which Milner discussed abusing a different child with another man.

The child involved had no connection to Milner.

Milner had previously served a six-month sentence in 2008 after being convicted of five counts of possessing indecent images of children.

During that sentencing, Judge Stephen Ashurst expressed disappointment that the earlier conviction had not prevented further offences, stating: “Your arrest, conviction, imprisonment and the public shame in 2008 might have been expected to act as a deterrent — unfortunately, they did not.” He was sentenced to 21 months in prison, placed on the sex offenders’ register for ten years, and is subject to a sexual offences prevention order that limits his internet access unless supervised by police.

Judge Ashurst noted that despite Milner’s success in business and support from his family, he continued to lead a disturbing double life.

His defence solicitor, Taryn Turner, stated that Milner was dealing with underlying issues and added that his family would continue to operate the business while he served his sentence.
