KEN HINDS, MALTON, FOUND GUILTY OF MULTIPLE SEX OFFENCES
2025: DECEASED WHILST ON BAIL AFTER FLEEING TO BENIDORM FOLLOWING CONVICTION A 75-year-old man from Malton, Kenneth Hinds of Ashfield Avenue, has been convicted of several sex-related offenses by a Hull Crown Court jury.The defendant was charged with nine counts of assaulting a girl under the age of 16.
After a trial that lasted three days, Hinds was found guilty of all charges on Thursday, February 13.
He was ordered to remain in custody until his sentencing at Hull Crown Court, scheduled for March 21.
According to Detective Constable Stephen Bromby of the Protecting Vulnerable People Unit, “We fully understand how damaging these crimes can be.
The two women who reported the abuse showed remarkable bravery in coming forward—one of whom was just a young girl at the time.
“I appreciate their cooperation during the investigation, which was both lengthy and complex.
Because of their courage, Hinds is now being held responsible for his reprehensible sexual misconduct.
We handle these cases with the utmost seriousness and sensitivity, and we encourage anyone who has experienced abuse—whether recent or in the past—or suspects someone they know is being harmed, to speak out and seek assistance.”
