JAMES KERNER, DANGEROUS SEX OFFENDER FROM WESTCLIFF, SENTENCED TO 13 YEARS IN PRISON
In a case that has shocked the community of Westcliff, James Kerner, a 36-year-old man, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 13 years following his conviction on multiple serious charges.The charges stemmed from allegations of sexual assault involving two young boys, both under the age of 13, and the case was brought to a close at Southend Crown Court in April of this year.
Kerner’s trial revealed disturbing details of his misconduct, with both victims providing compelling testimonies that contributed to his conviction.

Following the trial, Kerner was sentenced on Friday, May 13, by His Honour Judge Lodge at Basildon Crown Court.

The court also explicitly banned him from ever working with children again, a decision that underscores the gravity of his offenses and the potential risk he continues to pose.
The case was initially brought to the attention of Essex Police in October 2014, after the victims disclosed the abuse they had endured.
This disclosure prompted an investigation that ultimately led to Kerner’s arrest, trial, and subsequent sentencing.
