JAMES HUSBAND FROM GUISBOROUGH ESCAPES JAIL AFTER HORRIFIC CHILD ABUSE IMAGE SCANDAL IN TEESSIDE

In April 2019, the disturbing case of James Husband, a resident of Guisborough, came to light as authorities uncovered a vast collection of illegal and deeply disturbing images depicting child abuse.

Husband, aged 42, was found to possess thousands of indecent images, some of which showed children as young as eight months old being subjected to abuse, with certain images suggesting the children were under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The investigation was initiated after police received a tip-off on October 26, 2016, indicating that indecent photographs of children had been uploaded to the internet.

The authorities traced the uploads back to an email address linked to Husband’s residence in Guisborough.

Acting swiftly, officers executed a search warrant at his home, where they seized multiple electronic devices, including two computer towers, a mobile phone, and an external hard drive.

During the search, officers made a startling discovery when a side panel of one of the computer towers unexpectedly popped open, revealing a hidden mobile phone concealed inside.

This device also contained indecent images.

Law enforcement officials confirmed that the sheer volume of images was overwhelming, and they ceased counting once they reached over 193,000 images.

Among these, 748 fell into the most severe category of abuse, with an additional 929 in the second category and 258 in the third.

The images included particularly harrowing scenes, such as a child as young as eight months old being held down against their will.

The photographs, some dating back to April 4, 2014, depicted children in states of pain and distress, with some appearing to be intoxicated or drugged, raising serious concerns about the exploitation and abuse of vulnerable minors.

Husband appeared before Teesside Crown Court to face sentencing for his possession of indecent images.

Prosecutor Harry Hadfield outlined the case, emphasizing the disturbing nature of the material found.

The defense, represented by Michele Turner, argued that Husband was amenable to rehabilitation.

She highlighted that he had experienced trauma himself, including the suicide of his brother at a young age, which had placed significant pressure on him as the 'leader of the family' and caused him to rely on alcohol under stress.

Turner also noted that Husband was seeking help and expressed remorse for his actions, suggesting that his access to the images was linked to an isolated lifestyle.

Judge Howard Crowson sentenced Husband to a ten-month prison term, suspended for two years.

Additionally, Husband was issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for ten years and was placed on the sex offender register for the same duration.

The court also ordered him to pay costs of £250 and a surcharge of £140.

Husband, who is currently unemployed, was further instructed to comply with the court’s orders, marking a significant legal response to a case involving the exploitation of children and the possession of extremely disturbing material in Guisborough and the wider Teesside area.
