GUISBOROUGH MAN JAILED FOR BRUTAL 7-HOUR DOMESTIC ATTACK
Dean Wise, aged 32, committed a severe domestic assault against his former partner in Guisborough.The attack extended over approximately seven hours and involved Wise physically assaulting the woman by punching, kicking, and strangulation, leading to multiple serious injuries, including fractures to her bones, ribs, pelvis, spine, and wrist.
The court was informed that Wise's aggressive behavior was partly in response to accusations that the woman had been unfaithful, which she denied.
Prosecutor Paul Abrahams detailed how Wise disabled her phone and subjected her to physical violence by punching her in the face, pulling her hair, and slamming her onto the ground.
Throughout the assault, Wise made degrading comments, used a derogatory term towards her, and accused her of cheating, all of which she refuted.
Despite her cries of pain, Wise dismissed her suffering as hypochondria and later refused to allow medical treatment, insisting she should simulate a miscarriage.
When she finally sought medical help, she was hesitant to disclose her injuries, but paramedics eventually confirmed that she had been assaulted.
The victim reported feeling unable to leave her home due to high anxiety and trauma.
Wise pleaded guilty to charges of grievous bodily harm and intentionally strangling her.
The court described the attack as 'traumatic,' noting it took place at his residence in Guisborough.
Recorder Aisha Wadoodi sentenced Wise to five years and three months imprisonment and issued a restraining order prohibiting contact with the victim.
Wise's criminal history includes seven convictions covering 14 offenses.
