CARE WORKER CAUGHT MASTURBATING IN CAR AFTER CLIENT VISIT IN NEWPORT
James Gilbert, a 25-year-old care worker from Mill Hill Road, Cowes, appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates on May 23.
He admitted to a charge of outraging public decency on November 25 of the previous year in Newport.
Prosecutor Lauren McConnell explained that while working as a care worker, Gilbert was seen masturbating in his car after visiting a client on Wellington Road in Newport.
His agency received video footage of the incident, which led to his arrest.
In police interviews, Gilbert stated he was "letting off steam" and believed his car was a private space.
The court was told he showed remorse and regret for his actions.
Magistrates described the offense as reckless, noting it did not cause serious harm.
They ordered a pre-sentence report and adjourned the case to August 8, granting Gilbert unconditional bail.
