HORRIFIC HORNBURCH PAEDOPHILE JAMES FARINA SENTENCED FOR HUNDREDS OF ANIMAL SEX IMAGES AND CHILD GROOMING

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Hornchurch, James Farina has been sentenced to a total of 51 months in prison, with the first half served behind bars and the remainder on license. The 39-year-old offender was convicted of multiple serious offences, including the possession of over 300 explicit images depicting sexual acts between humans and animals, as well as engaging in sexual communication with a minor aged 15.

The sentencing took place at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday, October 26. The case was brought to light after police officers executed a search warrant at Farina’s residence on West Malling Way on April 14 of this year. During the raid, authorities seized a Nokia mobile phone and a laptop, both of which contained a disturbing collection of extreme pornographic material. These images included graphic depictions of individuals engaging in sexual acts with animals, which are considered highly illegal and morally reprehensible.

Further investigations revealed that Farina had been actively involved in online chats with a police officer operating undercover. Under the username James39Filthyuk, he initiated conversations on March 9, which quickly turned disturbing. During these exchanges, Farina sent a photograph of a naked male, from the waist down, sitting on a coffee table. The chat was laced with nauseating comments about sexual acts he claimed he wanted to perform with the officer’s daughter, who he falsely claimed was only 12 years old. The police, acting in an undercover capacity, pretended to be a mother, and the conversation revealed Farina’s explicit language and disturbing intentions.

It is important to note that Farina had a prior conviction for similar sexual offences in 2010. At that time, he was subject to a sexual prevention order that prohibited him from using the Tor browser, a tool often used to access the dark web and hide online activity. Despite this restriction, forensic analysis of Farina’s computer uncovered that he had been using the Tor browser for a period, indicating a deliberate attempt to evade detection. The examination also uncovered numerous images of women engaged in sexual acts with dogs, as well as Skype conversations with a minor known as Balabum, aged 15.

During these conversations, Farina exchanged sexual images with the teenager and made inappropriate comments, including one where he remarked, “wow, you have the body of a 14-year-old,” after receiving a photograph from her. Although he arranged to meet her at Romford Station, he ultimately did not follow through with the meeting. A psychiatric assessment later diagnosed Farina with secondary paedophilia, a condition that developed in adulthood, which provides some context for his behaviour.

Farina’s legal team, led by defence lawyer Sunil Mehta, argued that his paedophilia was triggered by factors such as social isolation, low mood, and cannabis use. The lawyer emphasized that Farina had not carried out any of the planned meetings and that he had experienced low mood and suicidal thoughts while in custody. The psychiatrist’s report described Farina as having an addiction, with his activities influenced by external factors, including his relationships with adults.

Farina pleaded guilty on August 28 to multiple charges, including causing a child under 13 to view indecent images, engaging in sexual communication with a minor, attempting to arrange sexual activities with an 11-year-old, making indecent images of a child, and attempting to meet a 15-year-old for sexual purposes. He also admitted to possessing 315 extreme pornographic images depicting acts of intercourse with live animals.

Judge Carolyn English addressed Farina during sentencing, highlighting the ongoing battle to protect society’s most vulnerable. She condemned offenders like Farina, who operate in secrecy, hiding behind closed doors to exploit others. The judge pointed out that this was not Farina’s first offence, noting that he had previously been given a community order, which he had breached. The judge emphasized that Farina had deliberately taken steps to undermine the protective measures in place, fully aware of his actions.

In a related case from August 2018, Farina, then 40, had pleaded guilty to similar offences involving possession of hundreds of images of sexual acts with animals and attempting to groom a minor online. During that case, he was caught in an online sting operation after arranging to meet a fictitious 14-year-old girl in a park. When he arrived, police officers intercepted him, and he attempted to flee in his vehicle. He was subsequently arrested and faced multiple charges, including attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity and possessing indecent images of children.

Farina’s history of offending underscores a pattern of disturbing behaviour, with authorities and the court recognizing the ongoing risk he poses to society. His latest sentencing reflects the severity of his crimes and the continued efforts of law enforcement to combat online child exploitation and animal abuse.
