In a disturbing case that has shocked the communities of Swansea and Winch Wen, James Evans, a 72-year-old pensioner, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 11 years following his conviction for a series of heinous sexual offenses committed over a span of more than three decades.
Evans, who resides on Caldicot Road in Winch Wen, appeared in Swansea Crown Court where he was found guilty by a jury of multiple charges including attempted rape, indecent assault, and gross indecency.
Throughout the proceedings, Evans showed no visible emotion as he sat in his wheelchair at the side of the courtroom, a stark reminder of his age and health issues.
