MAN JAILED FOR RAPE

James Anthony Elliott, aged 30, was given an eight-year prison term and an indefinite restraining order at Liverpool Crown Court today.

Elliott, residing on Newsham Drive, was convicted after a three-day trial that started on Monday, July 7.

The court was informed that Elliott assaulted an 18-year-old woman by raping her inside a residence in August 2022.

The victim has received support from officers specially trained to assist sexual assault survivors.
