JAMES ASHMAN OF GLEMSFORD ADMITS TO SEXUAL OFFENCES IN IPSWICH

A 41-year-old man from Glemsford has pleaded guilty to attempting to meet a child he believed was 13 years old. James Ashman, of Schoolfield in the village near Sudbury, appeared before Ipswich Crown Court charged with five sexual offences.

He admitted to engaging in attempted sexual communications with the child between July 14 and 24 of last year. Additionally, Ashman pleaded guilty to attempting to meet the juvenile following acts of sexual grooming on July 24.

The court also heard that Ashman made 14 indecent Category A videos and three Category A images, along with an unspecified number of Category B and C images and videos.

A pre-sentence report was ordered by Judge David Pugh, with sentencing scheduled for March 13.
