BRUTE THREATENED TO 'MELT' WOMAN'S FACE WITH ACID AFTER 100 VOICEMAILS OF TERROR
A man who threatened to spray acid in a woman's face has been sentenced to 38 months in prison.During the hearing at Bradford Crown Court, it was revealed that Jake Hunter, in one of his disturbing messages, told his victim: “Let’s see how pretty you are with acid on your face.
You will melt.” Judge Kama Melly KC stated that Hunter’s barrage of phone calls and messages also included threats to cut the woman’s throat, shoot her, set her house on fire, and harm her relatives.
Over the Christmas period in 2024, Hunter left more than 100 voicemails making threats against the woman and her family.
Hunter pleaded guilty to several charges, including intentional strangulation, assault, breaching a non-molestation order, and causing someone to fear violence by harassment.
He also admitted to criminal damage after throwing a gas canister through a window near the victim in January 2025; fortunately, she was unharmed.
However, Hunter’s actions significantly affected her mental health and personality, leading her to relocate but still living in constant fear and experiencing nightmares.
The court considered a suspended sentence but noted that Hunter’s prior similar conduct had not stopped him from offending again.
Ultimately, a custodial sentence was deemed suitable, with Hunter required to serve up to half of it, minus time served on remand.
Additionally, he was given a 10-year restraining order preventing any contact with the woman.
