BRADFORD MAN FACES 'VERY LONG SENTENCE' AFTER BEING CONVICTED OF MULTIPLE RAPES
A man from Bradford faces lengthy jail time after being convicted of serious sex offences including multiple rapes.Aaron Purewal, 32, of no fixed abode but formerly of Well Street, on the edge of Little Germany, was found guilty of ten offences by a jury on Monday (April 13) following a trial.
They were five counts of rape, two counts of assault by penetration, intentional suffocation, intentional strangulation, and sexual assault.
He was acquitted of four charges: rape, attempted rape, sexual assault, and common assault.
The jury deliberated for nine hours and 23 minutes.
Her Honour Judge Sophie McKone adjourned proceedings to June 26 and told Purewal: “You can expect a very long sentence.” Purewal, who will have to register as a sex offender, was remanded into custody.
