FORMER YOUTH WORKER FOUND GUILTY OF SEX OFFENCES AGAINST GIRLS

A former senior youth worker has been convicted of multiple sexual offences involving adolescent girls aged 14 to 17.

Jacob Agnew, aged 30 and from Hull, was found guilty on six charges after a 13-day trial at Hull Crown Court, which wrapped up on Monday.

According to Humberside Police, the crimes involved seven victims and occurred over a period from 2012 to 2022 while Agnew was employed as a youth worker.

He has been granted bail and is scheduled for sentencing at the same court on 24 July.

Agnew was convicted of four counts of engaging in sexual activity with a minor, sexual assault, and inducing a minor to participate in sexual activities.

In a prior court appearance in March, Agnew admitted to charges of fraud and four counts of sexual activity with a minor.
