HULL PAEDOPHILE ALAN MOORE JAILED FOR INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN
Customers at a bar alerted authorities after witnessing Alan Moore, a suspected pedophile, viewing child abuse videos on his laptop. It was revealed in court that Moore, 67, of Perth Street West, had not informed police about acquiring a new device and had erased the videos before his arrest, Hull Crown Court heard.
Moore pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including three counts of possessing indecent images of children, three counts of creating such images, and breaching a sexual harm prevention order.
He also confessed to two additional violations of the order.
Prosecutor Holly Clegg stated that Moore had prior convictions for similar crimes at Chelmsford Crown Court in 2013 and was again convicted at Knaresborough Crown Court in 2023 for producing indecent images of minors.
Following the 2023 conviction, he was placed on the sex offenders' register for life.
Investigators found that he had downloaded indecent images of children onto his laptop, with reports indicating 350 images in the most serious category, 372 in a medium category, and 1,370 in a lesser category.
The children depicted ranged from infants and toddlers to young teenagers.
These images were stored in folders labeled 'Cuties 1 and 2 and Cuties Specials'.
A court order barred him from deleting footage from his device.
Witnesses at The Humber pub in Hull observed him viewing child exploitation material on his laptop, leading to police intervention.
Moore also admitted to officers that he possessed an unregistered phone.
Despite previous convictions and being on the sex offenders' register indefinitely, he failed to notify authorities about new devices and a new passport, with plans to travel abroad.
He received a prison sentence of three and a half years.
Defense attorney David Godfrey stated that Moore wished to 'wipe the slate clean' and felt 'deeply ashamed and remorseful.' Judge Taryn Turner emphasized Moore’s extensive history of sexual offenses and repeated violations of court orders, which resulted in his sentencing to prison.
