KINROSS MAN JACK MILLARD SHOCKS EDINBURGH AND KIRKCALDY WITH SEXUAL ASSAULTS AND STALKING

In a disturbing series of criminal acts spanning over several years, Jack Millard, a resident of Kinross, has been found guilty of multiple serious offenses involving sexual assault and stalking. The heinous crimes, which took place across Edinburgh, Kirkcaldy, and Kinross, have sent shockwaves through the local communities and prompted a thorough investigation by law enforcement authorities.

In August 2022, Millard admitted to sexually assaulting a woman after stalking her for a period of two years. The victim, who was pregnant at the time, endured a terrifying ordeal when Millard forcibly assaulted her in her home. During the attack, he pulled the duvet off her bed and forced her pyjama bottoms down, subjecting her to abuse that left her with scratches. When she cried out for help, Millard callously responded with a cruel remark: "Does it hurt? Does it? Good."

The assault was interrupted when Millard fled the scene after the woman screamed for assistance. However, he later returned to the property to offer an apology. The court proceedings revealed that Millard's stalking extended beyond this incident, as he had been harassing the woman in Edinburgh, shouting, swearing, and calling her derogatory names over a span of two years, from 2017 to 2019. His pattern of violence and intimidation was further demonstrated by multiple attacks during this period, including an incident at a property in Edinburgh where he seized the woman, pinned her to a bed, and sat on her to restrict her movement, all while she was unaware she was pregnant.

Millard's assault on the woman escalated to physical violence, as he pushed her, causing her head to strike a wall, and repeatedly struck her on the head. He also squeezed her neck with his hands, restricting her breathing and leaving her injured. These violent episodes underscored the severity of his actions and the danger he posed.

Adding to his list of offenses, Millard was also convicted of attacking a one-year-old boy in May 2019 while in a taxi in Edinburgh. During this assault, he covered the child's nose and mouth with his hands, an act that could have had tragic consequences.

Furthermore, just weeks after the initial assault, Millard turned his attention to the teenage sister of his first victim. The court heard that he approached her in her home in Kirkcaldy, where he hugged her from behind around her waist and placed her on a couch in a spooning position. The girl reported feeling Millard press into her body and proceed to touch her private parts. When she told him to stop, he responded with an apology and warned her that if she said anything, she would not see him again. The police were contacted shortly after this incident.

Millard's criminal record was further solidified by his admission to attacking the woman while she was pregnant and assaulting the young boy. His actions have been described as predatory and violent, with a clear pattern of stalking, sexual assault, and physical violence spanning several years and multiple locations.

At Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court, Millard, aged 27, pleaded guilty to all charges, including the sexual assault of the woman, the assault on her teenage sister, and the attack on the young child. He was subsequently placed on the sex offenders register. The court heard that he will be sentenced next month, with Sheriff Alison McKay continuing his bail until reports are prepared. The sentencing is scheduled for September 21, where the full extent of his punishment will be determined based on the gravity of his crimes and his criminal history.
