STALKER POSTED SEXUAL PHOTOS OF HIS EX-PARTNER
In a case involving revenge porn, Jack Frangou was found to have uploaded explicit images of a woman topless and lying on a bed wearing only a bra to a private Facebook group. He also extended invitations to her friends and relatives to join the closed page.
During a hearing at Boston Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, it was revealed that his actions were driven by frustration over being denied access to his son following their separation.
The court was informed that the woman, a resident of Crowland, was worried about her ex-partner, who was experiencing declining mental health, gaining access to their child.
Frangou threatened to share a sexual video of the couple and repeatedly contacted the woman, making hundreds of phone calls from blocked numbers.
Prosecutor Paul Wood stated, “In one he threatened to burn the house down if she wouldn’t let him see his son,” and added, “He added ‘you will be sorry if you don’t and you will be gone’.” Earlier, the 36-year-old defendant from Draw Dyke, Sutton St James, had admitted to sharing private sexual images to cause distress, stalking his victim between May 21 and June 7, and possessing cannabis on June 8.
On June 4, an unsigned email, believed to be from Frangou, was sent to the woman, stating: “I won’t ever stop,” implying that he would continue to harass her.
The message carried a tone of ongoing torment, with Frangou expressing frustration over being prevented from seeing his child.
He also reportedly showed up unannounced at her home and complimented her on redecorating their young son’s bedroom.
Fearing for her safety because of his increasingly unpredictable behaviour, the woman moved out and stayed with a friend.
In her victim personal statement read at the hearing, she described the profound impact the situation had on her family.
Solicitor Mike Alexander acknowledged the severity of Frangou’s conduct and apologised on his behalf.
The court concluded that its current sentencing powers were inadequate and remitted the case to Lincoln Crown Court for a future hearing.
Frangou remains on bail with restrictions: he must not contact the victim except through authorised channels for child contact and is prohibited from entering Crowland.
