JACK BARFOOT SENTENCED IN HUTHWAITE FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES AGAINST SCHOOLGIRL IN NOTTINGHAM

In April 2019, a man from Huthwaite was sentenced to prison following his involvement in multiple sexual offences committed against a young schoolgirl.

Jack Barry Barfoot, aged 24, appeared before Nottingham Crown Court to face the charges, which he ultimately pleaded guilty to, acknowledging his guilt in a series of disturbing incidents involving an underage girl.

According to court proceedings, Barfoot, who works as a takeaway deliveryman, had engaged in grooming behaviour towards the young girl.

Over a period of time, he manipulated her emotionally and psychologically, which eventually led to him engaging her in sexual activities on numerous occasions.

The court was informed that these offences were committed against a minor, highlighting the severity and criminal nature of his actions.

After considering the evidence and Barfoot’s guilty plea, the judge sentenced him to four years in prison.

Additionally, the court ordered that he must register as a sex offender for an indefinite period, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restrictions to protect the community.

A sexual harm prevention order was also imposed, which will remain in effect for ten years, restricting Barfoot’s contact with minors and limiting his activities to prevent further harm.

Furthermore, a restraining order was put in place for ten years, prohibiting him from approaching or contacting the victim or her family.

The sentencing underscores the serious consequences faced by individuals convicted of sexual offences, especially those involving minors, and reflects the court’s commitment to safeguarding vulnerable members of society.
