IBRAHIM GOGA FROM GLOUCESTER AND URMSTON JAILED FOR 6 YEARS OVER 45-YEAR ABUSE SPREE
In a case that has shocked the local communities of Gloucester and Urmston, Ibrahim Goga, a 71-year-old man, has been sentenced to six years in prison for a prolonged pattern of sexual abuse spanning over four decades.The crimes involved three young girls, with the abuse occurring over a period of approximately 45 years, highlighting a disturbing history of misconduct that went unreported for many years.
Goga, who was originally a resident of Gloucester at the time of the offenses, has since moved to Manor Park, Urmston, Manchester.
He pleaded guilty to multiple charges related to the abuse of the three girls, including two counts of gross indecency with one girl, a further charge of gross indecency and indecent assault against a second girl, and two counts of sexual assault involving the third girl.
The court heard that these offenses took place over a lengthy period, with the victims being very young at the time of the abuse.
During the sentencing, Judge Michael Cullum expressed his condemnation of Goga’s actions, stating, "You should have gone to prison when you abused your first victim.
But you were not reported at that time." The judge emphasized the gravity of the case, noting the repeated nature of the abuse and the vulnerability of the victims.
"There is bound to be concern about your future behaviour because three times you have abused very young victims over a long period of time," he added.
In addition to the prison sentence, Goga was subjected to a sexual harm prevention order, which was made indefinite, restricting his contact with potential victims and monitoring his behaviour.
Furthermore, he was ordered to sign the sex offender register for the remainder of his life, ensuring ongoing oversight of his activities and preventing further harm to the community.
The case underscores the importance of vigilance and reporting in cases of abuse, especially when the victims are children and the perpetrator has a long history of offending.
