HUSSAIN CHEHAB FROM BARNET FACES JAIL AFTER SHOCKING CHILD SEX OFFENSES IN NORTH LONDON

In a disturbing case that has cast a dark shadow over the Metropolitan Police's reputation, Hussain Chehab, a 22-year-old police officer from Barnet, has admitted to serious criminal conduct involving a young girl from North London. The allegations reveal a pattern of grooming and sexual activity with a 14-year-old girl, alongside possession of numerous indecent images depicting children as young as two years old.

Chehab, who served as a school liaison officer for the Metropolitan Police, was responsible for engaging with parents and children at school gates across North London. His role was intended to foster community trust and ensure safety, but instead, he exploited his position for personal and criminal purposes. The offences took place during a period when he was 19 years old, prior to his official employment with the police force.

The court proceedings uncovered that Chehab engaged in sexual intercourse with the underage girl on at least two separate occasions between March and September 2019. These acts occurred before he officially joined the Metropolitan Police, raising questions about his conduct prior to his law enforcement career. The court also heard that Chehab was found in possession of a staggering 882 indecent images of children, which included both still photographs and videos. Among these, 293 were classified as Category A, indicating the most severe level of child exploitation material, some of which depicted children as young as two years old.

During the hearing at Wood Green Crown Court, Judge John Dodd, KC, detailed the gravity of Chehab’s offences. The judge emphasized that the images and acts involved some of the most heinous forms of child abuse, and he warned Chehab that he must prepare for a significant prison sentence. Despite being released on bail under strict conditions—prohibiting contact with the victim and any unsupervised contact with minors—Chehab’s future remains uncertain as he awaits sentencing scheduled for March 17.

Judge Dodd made it clear that the offences committed by Chehab are extremely serious, and he cautioned him not to misunderstand the severity of his actions. The judge’s words underscored the expectation that Chehab faces a lengthy incarceration, reflecting the gravity of his crimes. Chehab, who resides in Barnet, North London, now faces the prospect of a substantial prison term as the legal process continues.
