MAN JAILED FOR NON-RECENT SEXUAL ABUSE

A man living in West Cornwall, Herbert Peters, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison plus one year on extended licence for sexual abuse crimes committed against children in the past.

The court heard that Peters, aged 73 and residing on Park Road in Redruth, was found guilty of two counts of buggery and two counts of indecent assault, all relating to offenses from the 1970s.

His case was heard at Truro Crown Court on 28 February, and the sentence was handed down by HHJ Judge Carr.
