MAN JAILED FOR SEXUAL COMMUNICATION WITH TEENAGE GIRL
A man has been sentenced to nearly six years in prison after engaging in sexual communications with a minor.Henry Hart, 40, formerly of Stanningfield near Bury St Edmunds, appeared at Cambridge Crown Court on April 23, where he was sentenced to five years and ten months in custody.
He had pleaded not guilty to two counts of sexual communication with a girl under 16 and one count of encouraging a girl under 16 to engage in sexual activity involving penetration.
After a six-day trial, the jury found Hart guilty on all charges.
The court was told that Hart was familiar with the girl, who was 13 years old at the time, and that he used Snapchat to send her sexual messages.
Concerned friends reported their worries to the girl’s family, leading to police intervention.
Hart was also given an indefinite sexual harm prevention order, a permanent restraining order, and was ordered to register as a sex offender for life.
