HAYDN MANOREK CONVICTED OF SEXUAL ASSAULT AND GBH IN SWANSEA
A 29-year-old man, Haydn Manorek, has been convicted of sexually assaulting a woman and later assaulting her in a bar in Swansea, resulting in a broken jaw.
The incident occurred at a Coyote Ugly bar where Manorek touched the victim's bottom three times.
When she objected and slapped him, he responded by punching her in the face, knocking her to the bar floor.
Prosecutor Sian Cutter explained that the victim was visibly distressed during the attack, while Manorek remained unfazed.
Following the assault, the woman required emergency surgery to insert two metal plates into her jaw.
She later described the emotional toll, stating, 'I am petrified of standing up for myself in the future or if I am sexually assaulted I will be met with violence again.' She also shared that her enjoyment of social outings has diminished, replaced by fear, sleepless nights, and a loss of trust in men.
Manorek, who had no previous convictions and owns a bricklaying business, admitted to charges of sexual assault and causing grievous bodily harm.
During sentencing, Judge Paul Thomas KC condemned his actions as 'absolutely disgraceful' and acknowledged the victim's understandable reaction to his misconduct.
Although the judge believed Manorek deserved immediate custody, he chose to suspend the 12-month prison sentence for two years.
As part of his sentence, Manorek must complete 120 days of alcohol abstinence and 200 hours of unpaid work.
He was also ordered to pay the victim £10,000 in compensation, placed under a four-year restraining order, and will be registered as a sex offender for seven years.
