A man who attempted to drown his pregnant partner has received a prison sentence.
Harvey Browne, aged 20, tried to submerge his girlfriend in a bath at their residence in Godmanchester, near Huntingdon, in August of the previous year.
Following this, he subjected her to a series of abusive remarks and punched her in the abdomen.
Police arrived at the scene after neighbours expressed their concerns and made a call.
During the investigation, Browne was taken into custody.
While he was out on bail, Browne reached out to the woman and issued threats to kill her, stating he would “put her in a coffin” before law enforcement could intervene.
Browne, who lives on Moselle Avenue in Haringey, London, was apprehended for sending messages that threatened death or serious injury.
He admitted guilt to both that and to an assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
On Monday (27 April), Cambridge Crown Court sentenced him to two years and nine months in a young offenders’ institution.
