HARRY DOBSON SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES IN CHESTER
A young man has been handed a substantial prison sentence after being convicted of multiple serious sexual offences involving underage girls in Chester.Harry Dobson, residing on Village Road in Waverton, Chester, was sentenced to nine years and six months in prison at Chester Crown Court on Friday, 8 December.
Dobson, aged 19 at the time of sentencing, was previously found guilty of nine separate counts of sexual misconduct against minors.
These charges included rape, sexual activity with a child, sexual assault, and inciting a child to engage in sexual acts.
The offences were committed when Dobson was just 18 years old, during a period spanning from November 2022 to April 2023.
The first victim, a 15-year-old girl, was sexually assaulted by Dobson at the Mercure Hotel in Chester on 20 November 2022.
During this incident, Dobson pressured her into engaging in a sexual act.
The victim reported the assault to the police on 29 November after confiding in her teacher about what had happened.
The second victim, a 14-year-old girl, was manipulated into sexual activity by Dobson after they began communicating via Snapchat.
Evidence in the case included text messages where Dobson used emotional blackmail to coerce her into complying with his demands.
On two separate occasions, Dobson raped this girl.
The police were informed of these incidents in May 2023, following the occurrence earlier that year.
Dobson was formally charged and placed in remand custody in May 2023.
His guilt was established after a two-week trial held in October 2023, during which the evidence against him was thoroughly examined.
In addition to his prison sentence, Dobson is required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
He is also subject to an indefinite sexual harm prevention order, which aims to restrict his contact with potential victims and monitor his activities.
Furthermore, a restraining order has been issued to prevent Dobson from approaching or contacting both victims involved in the case, ensuring their ongoing safety and protection.
