GUY COPELAND FROM ALVASTON SENTENCED TO 12 YEARS FOR CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE IN DERBY
In a case that has shocked the local community, Guy Copeland, a 59-year-old resident of Brighton Road in Alvaston, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 12 years for a series of heinous sexual offenses committed against a young girl.The abuse spanned nearly a decade, beginning when the victim was just seven years old and continuing until she reached the age of 16, during the 1990s.
It was only in 2011 that the victim, now an adult, decided to come forward and report the abuse to the police.

The case was brought before Derby Crown Court, where a jury found Guy Copeland guilty of multiple serious charges, including rape, 13 counts of indecent assault, and attempted sexual assault.
