In a case that has shocked the local community, Guy Copeland, a 59-year-old resident of Brighton Road in Alvaston, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 12 years for a series of heinous sexual offenses committed against a young girl.

The abuse spanned nearly a decade, beginning when the victim was just seven years old and continuing until she reached the age of 16, during the 1990s.
