STEPHEN PEACH FROM ALVASTON SENTENCED AFTER SHOCKING HALLOWEEN INCIDENT IN DERBY
On the evening of October 31, a disturbing incident unfolded in the Alvaston area of Derby that has left the community shaken and authorities concerned.A 63-year-old man named Stephen Peach was observed engaging in highly inappropriate behavior from his flat window on Coronation Avenue.
Witnesses, including children and their guardians participating in Halloween trick-or-treating, reported seeing Peach completely unclothed and touching himself in full view of passersby.
The police control room in Derby received multiple distress calls from concerned residents who had witnessed the alarming scene.
The calls described a man standing at his window, exposing himself and engaging in sexual acts while children were walking past during the festive evening.
The first report came from a mother whose child was among those who saw Peach, and subsequent complaints confirmed the seriousness of the situation.
Law enforcement officers responded swiftly to the reports and arrested Stephen Peach at his residence.
Following his arrest, he was charged with public indecency.
During his court appearance at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court, Peach admitted to the charges and pleaded guilty to outraging public decency.
The magistrates did not take the matter lightly.
They sentenced Peach to 16 weeks in prison, emphasizing the gravity of his actions.
The presiding judge stated, “We are committing you to prison for public protection because this happened at your address in full view of children walking by your house on Halloween.
We are very concerned that you are a serious risk of harm and it is clear you are not controlling your behaviour.” Furthermore, the court noted evidence suggesting a long-standing interest in children, which, according to the pre-sentence report from the probation service, is unlikely to change.
The case has raised significant concerns about community safety and the potential risks posed by individuals with such troubling tendencies, especially during community events like Halloween when children are particularly vulnerable.
