A PORT Glasgow brute has been locked up after confessing to strangling his ex-wife and causing her surgical stitches to burst open.In one shocking incident, Gregory Doyle dragged his victim by the hair and caused her to strike her head against a radiator.The 35-year-old also attacked two children, seizing one by the hair and dragging them by the neck and body.Doyle was jailed for nearly two years after pleading guilty to a series of assaults and abusive behaviour stretching back to 2013.A sheriff slammed the 'shameful' behaviour - while Doyle’s own solicitor told Greenock Sheriff Court that his client’s anger had 'got the better of him on many, many occasions'.He also assaulted the same woman on a single occasion in 2013 by seizing her by the hair and knocking her to the ground.In addition, Doyle confessed to seizing a child by the hair, and dragging him by the neck and body, on various occasions between 2018 and 2022.He inflicted similar actions on a second child between 2019 and 2022.During his campaign of domestic abuse against his ex, Doyle threatened to kill her and used derogatory language towards her.One incident saw him pin her down and straddle her as he compressed her neck and restricted her breathing.He also dragged her by the hair during a separate incident, causing her to strike her head against a radiator.Doyle also pulled the woman’s arms apart on another occasion, opening up stitches she had received while undergoing surgery.
