PORT GLASGOW MAN JAILED AFTER BRANDISHING KNIFE AT EX-PARTNER
James McEwan, a resident of Port Glasgow, received a prison sentence of two and a half years for domestic violence, which included a threat to kill his former partner with a knife.
In a February incident, he pulled her by the hair, hit her, and made threats to dismember her and bury her six feet underground.
The abusive behavior persisted for several months following their separation in November 2025, involving unwanted contact through social media messages, emails, and phone calls.
Additionally, he followed her in a shop, recorded her on his phone, made derogatory comments, and spat at her.
McEwan admitted to the charges of domestic abuse at Greenock Sheriff Court and was sentenced to 30 months in prison, along with a further 12 months of supervised release.
He also confessed to shouting racist and abusive remarks at police officers after being taken into custody.
