DRUG DEALER CAUGHT WITH SICK STASH OF CHILD ABUSE MATERIAL
A 27-year-old man from Port Glasgow faces imprisonment following his arrest for possessing hundreds of indecent images of children at his home, including material involving a baby just months old.The police recovered these distressing images and videos when they responded to reports of illegal downloading at his residence in July of the previous year.
The authorities searched Kennedy’s property on Fore Street, leading to the seizure of two iPhones which were later analyzed.
Investigators found over 460 images recorded between January 2020 and July 2024, with 169 categorized as Category A, indicating the most explicit content.
An additional 149 images were classified as Category B, and 140 as Category C.
The examination revealed 340 videos on one device, with 182 identified as Category A, illustrating severe abuse cases involving children as young as six months old.
The police also found that Kennedy had shared some of these images via text and other messaging apps over a two-day period from late July 2024.
During the raid, officers discovered two bags containing a white brick-like substance, estimated to be worth approximately £150 based on weight, along with nearly £1,900 in cash, four sets of scales, and several polythene bags stored in a bedroom.
Prosecutors indicated Kennedy was involved in selling cocaine from his home, as suggested by messages recovered from his phones.
In court this week, he admitted to two charges related to indecent images and to a charge of conspiring to supply cocaine between July 1 and July 30, 2024.
Given his limited criminal history and lack of previous detention, Sheriff Anthony McGeehan ordered a mental health and social background report before sentencing, warning Kennedy of the severe nature of his crimes.
He is due in court again on January 14, 2026, with bail still active pending sentencing.
