GRAHAM THOMPSON'S PERTH HOSPITAL HOAX AND DOMESTIC ABUSE REVEALED

A 38-year-old man named Graham Thompson from Perth has been involved in a disturbing campaign of domestic abuse against his partner, which spanned over eight months. The allegations detail a series of manipulative and threatening behaviors that culminated in a false hospital video designed to deceive his partner.

According to court reports from Perth Sheriff Court, Thompson engaged in a pattern of relentless harassment, which included sending a fabricated video of himself lying in a hospital bed. This was part of a broader effort to convince his partner that he was seriously unwell. Alongside this deception, Thompson bombarded her with numerous messages via phone and social media platforms, creating a persistent and invasive presence in her life.

Further complicating the situation, Thompson took the step of contacting his partner’s employers under false pretenses. He lied to her colleagues, claiming that she had been involved in criminal activities, thereby attempting to damage her reputation and employment standing. These actions demonstrate a calculated attempt to control and intimidate her through both emotional and social means.

During the court proceedings, Thompson’s solicitor described him as “a man of substance,” though he acknowledged that Thompson’s criminal record was “not a happy reading.” The court heard that Thompson had admitted to engaging in abusive behavior towards his girlfriend between December 1, 2019, and July 22 of the previous year. His conduct included excessive communication—calling, texting, and messaging her on social media to inquire about her whereabouts, as well as threatening to harm himself if she did not comply.

Thompson also admitted to physically seizing her hand and pretending to be hospitalized by sending a fake video to reinforce his false claim. He further requested her to bring his belongings, adding to the emotional strain. His actions extended to false accusations directed at her employer, alleging her involvement in criminal conduct, which could have had serious repercussions for her professional life.

On January 18 of this year, Thompson’s behavior escalated to a threatening and abusive level at his residence. Court records state that he was shouting, swearing, and uttering threats of violence during this incident, further illustrating the pattern of intimidation and aggression.

The sentencing of Graham Thompson was deferred by Sheriff Neil Bowie, who ordered the preparation of social background reports before a final decision is made. The case highlights the serious nature of domestic abuse and the manipulative tactics used to control and threaten victims, with the court taking a cautious approach before imposing a sentence.
