GRAHAM FORSON SENT TO PRISON FOR SEXUAL MESSAGE SCANDAL IN EXETER AND VERWOOD

In a recent case that has shocked the local communities of Exeter and Verwood, Graham Forson, a man residing on Edmondsham Road in Verwood, has been sentenced to prison for engaging in inappropriate and predatory behavior towards a teenage boy. Forson, who was described by the court as a solitary individual, had established a seemingly innocent friendship with a Christian family in the area, which later revealed darker undertones.

According to court records, Forson, aged 35 at the time of sentencing, was accused of sending explicit and sexual messages to the teenage son of the Christian couple through Facebook. The messages, which were deemed highly inappropriate given the age difference and the vulnerability of the young victim, prompted a serious legal response. Forson faced charges of inciting a child under the age of 16 to engage in sexual activity, a crime that carries significant penalties under UK law.

Judge John Harrow presided over the case at Bournemouth Crown Court and delivered a stern sentence of nine months in prison on the Friday of the sentencing hearing. In his remarks, the judge highlighted Forson’s interactions with the family, noting that he had initially been welcomed into their home and treated with kindness. The family, described as a decent Christian household, had extended their hospitality to Forson, sharing meals and allowing him to meet their children. Despite this, Forson’s behavior grew increasingly problematic, to the point where he became a nuisance, yet the family continued to show him compassion.

The court heard that Forson had developed a close and seemingly friendly relationship with the young victim, taking him out on drives and trips, which appeared to be innocent at first glance. However, the judge pointed out that Forson’s intentions had darker motives. He explained, “It all seemed to be perfectly innocent and to a large extent at that time it was. You clearly developed great affection for him and you indulged in exchanges on Facebook with him of a sexual nature at a time when you were more than 20 years older than he was.”

Judge Harrow further stated that Forson might have believed the messages were taken as humorous or as a joke by the victim, but he emphasized that Forson’s true intent was to foster some form of future sexual contact. The court also considered a probation report that recommended a suspended sentence; however, the judge felt that Forson’s conduct was so serious that immediate imprisonment was necessary. “Your conduct is so serious that I am imposing an immediate prison sentence,” he declared, underscoring the gravity of the case and the importance of protecting vulnerable minors from predatory behavior.
