GORDON COLLINS FROM BONNYRIGG SENTENCED TO TEN YEARS FOR ABUSE OF TEENAGE GIRLS IN EDINBURGH

A former care worker from Edinburgh has seen his prison sentence significantly increased to a total of ten years after an initial six-year term was considered too lenient by the court. Gordon Collins, aged 60, was found guilty of subjecting four vulnerable teenage girls to abuse over a period exceeding ten years while employed at residential care facilities in Edinburgh.

The court heard that Collins’s pattern of grooming and exploitation extended over a span of more than 11 years, during which he betrayed the trust placed in him by the families and the community.
