SMASHED UP, TERRORISED AND LEFT IN FEAR — COURT STEPS IN AFTER HORROR ABUSE ORDEAL
A young woman has been left traumatised after a shocking campaign of domestic abuse that turned her own home into a scene of destruction.Photos reveal the full extent of the chaos — a window completely blown in, a door punched straight through, and damage scattered throughout the property.
This wasn’t a one-off incident.
It shows a pattern of violent, uncontrolled behaviour that left her living in constant fear.
Injuries visible on her arm only deepen the concern, pointing to the reality that this went beyond damage to property.
Now, Edinburgh Sheriff Court has taken action.
A Non-Harassment Order has been imposed against Craig Turnbull under Section 234A of the Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1995 — a legal move used when behaviour crosses a serious line.
The court heard the accused had already pled guilty to threatening or abusive behaviour and vandalism.
That order means one thing: he must stay away.
Any breach could land him straight back before the courts.
But for the victim, the damage is already done.
She’s been left picking up the pieces — both physically and mentally — in a home that no longer feels safe.
Smashed glass, broken doors, and the scars of what happened serve as a constant reminder of the ordeal she’s been through.
Cases like this highlight the brutal reality of domestic abuse.
It doesn’t just happen behind closed doors — it leaves visible, lasting damage and victims who are forced to rebuild their lives from scratch.
