NHS MEDIC CAUGHT WITH THOUSANDS OF CHILD ABUSE IMAGES AT EDINBURGH HOSPITAL
An NHS doctor was apprehended while working at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary after being caught downloading a disturbing collection of child abuse images.Gordon Truong, aged 40, was serving as a radiographer at the city’s hospital when detectives from Police Scotland arrived to question him about his access to the vile material.
Truong was taken into custody and later charged with possessing over 7,000 images and videos depicting the sexual exploitation of girls aged 10 to 15.
During the court proceedings, he admitted to two charges related to creating, taking, and possessing indecent images of children over nearly five years.
The police investigation uncovered thousands of such images stored on three of Truong’s devices, including 444 classified as Category A—the most serious level.
These included hundreds of images showing young girls, some as young as 10 to 12, exposing their genitals and being subjected to sexual acts by adults.
Truong resigned from his NHS role and is currently under disciplinary review.
His sentencing has been postponed pending additional reports, and he remains on bail.
The court emphasized the graphic nature of the images, describing girls aged between 10 and 12 engaging in sexual activities.
Truong entered a guilty plea at Edinburgh Sheriff Court, and his legal representatives stated that he had fully cooperated and resigned shortly after his arrest.
The case is still ongoing concerning his sentencing and any possible restrictions on his liberty.
