TELFORD MAN, 46, JAILED FOR BREACHING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PROTECTION ORDER
Glyn Hull, a man from Telford with no permanent residence, has received a 28-day prison sentence after breaching a Domestic Violence Protection Order (DVPO).He was found guilty at Telford Magistrates’ Court following evidence that he violated the order by being in the company of the protected individual on January 28 and 29.
Detective Sergeant Chloe Jones, part of Telford’s Protecting Vulnerable People Team, underscored the importance of DVPOs, stating: “Domestic abuse is a serious crime that destroys the lives of victims and their families.
Protection orders like these enable us to act quickly to safeguard victims, providing them with a measure of safety from their abuser while they assess their options with support services.” The court’s decision serves to highlight the importance of such legal measures, with a judge issuing a 28-day order to ensure victim safety.
The article encourages individuals to report domestic abuse online via the West Mercia Police website and reminds victims to dial 999 immediately in case of emergency.
