VIOLENT MAN WITH 69 PAST CONVICTIONS JAILED FOR ATTACKS ON WOMEN

A violent thug with a long history of attacking women and police officers bit a PC's thigh during the coronavirus pandemic.

Stephen McEvoy has bit and spat on officers on numerous occasions in the past and his 69 previous convictions included several against his partner.

His 42-month jail sentence followed repeated assaults, including one where he bit and spat on officers and his own mother.

He had previously served 56 months in prison for similar assaults.

He was also convicted of administering a threatening substance on his victim and for attacking a police officer, which led to his jail term and a lifelong restraining order.
