BURNLEY MAN JAILED FOR ASSAULT AND BREACH OF SUSPENDED SENTENCE IN BLACKPOOL
George Stevens, residing at Edgworth Grove, Burnley, was convicted of assaulting his former partner during a night out in Blackpool, during which he also smashed her phone on the ground and discarded it.
The incident occurred after his ex showed him a text message from another person, which triggered his jealousy and abusive behavior, leading to him pushing her into the metal shutters of a nearby business and snatching her phone.
CCTV footage showed him throwing her phone onto the street after smashing it.
The court heard that Stevens was already serving a 15-month suspended sentence for attacking a man with a baseball bat, and his breach of this sentence resulted in a 12-month prison sentence and a three-year restraining order.
