COLCHESTER MAN COULD FACE JAIL AFTER ATTEMPTING TO ENGAGE IN SEXUAL COMMUNICATION WITH UNDERAGE GIRLS
A MAN who sent sexual messages to decoy social media accounts believing them to be underage girls has been told he could be jailed when he is sentenced next month.George Ibrahim, 37, appeared before Ipswich Crown Court on Tuesday after admitting three charges of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child, four counts of sending a threatening message, and two of harassment.
The offences took place in Colchester.
Ibrahim was due to be sentenced but the hearing was adjourned because the prosecutor in the case had to look after her ill child.
Mitigating, Mitchell Cohen said: “I think this is the third time he was due to be sentenced.
Mr Ibrahim is a very vulnerable man.
This crosses the custody threshold and I will be seeking to persuade that any sentence should be suspended due to the characteristics of this defendant, and the fact two and a half years have passed since this offence.” Judge David Pugh told Ibrahim, of Arnold Road, Clacton, he will be sentenced on October 7.
