A care home worker has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after admitting to raping a pensioner at a residential care home located in Fareham. The offender, George Foca, aged 36 and residing on Somers Road in Southsea, pleaded guilty to the charge of raping a resident in October of the previous year.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Samantha Hockley emphasized the seriousness of such offenses, stating, ‘The length of the sentence sends a clear message that the courts take sexual offences like this very seriously.
I hope that Foca’s admission of guilt provides the victim and their family some amount of closure for this traumatic experience.
I’d also like to thank the care home involved and their staff who assisted our investigation.’ As part of the sentence, Foca was ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for life.
