MAN JAILED FOR ELEVEN YEARS AFTER ADMITTING SEXUALLY ASSAULTING A WOMAN
On Wednesday, September 24, it was reported that a woman, aged 44, was sexually assaulted approximately two weeks earlier, on September 10, at a property on St Andrews Road.
Graham Michael Stubbs, a resident of that address, was detained on September 26 and faced charges of sexual assault and sexual assault involving digital penetration.
He confessed to both charges and was sentenced at Portsmouth Crown Court on March 20, 2026.
The court proceedings revealed that the woman was feeling unwell at the time and initially said ‘no’ when Stubbs touched her chest over her clothing.
However, he later sexually assaulted her while she was asleep.
Stubbs received an eight-year prison sentence for the sexual assault, which was increased to eleven years due to the severity of the crime.
Additionally, he was sentenced to eight months to be served concurrently for the earlier assault.
