SERIAL SWINDON PAEDOPHILE GETS ANOTHER COMMUNITY ORDER FOR MESSAGING A TEEN DECOY
Facebook account: https://www.facebook.com/gavin.smalley/ Gavin Smalley, aged 47, from High Street, Highworth, was involved in messaging an undercover police officer who was posing as a 14-year-old boy named Ryan.The messages exchanged included discussions of lewd acts and masturbation in a public toilet, with Smalley believing he was contacting a minor.
He first appeared at Swindon Magistrates' Court on May 21, where he pleaded guilty to engaging in sexual communications with a child.
The court was informed that Smalley had initiated conversations of a sexual nature during the period from March 13, 2024, to May 2, 2024.

Winters, the prosecutor, highlighted that Smalley was caught out by the decoy account.
On July 1, Smalley was sentenced to a two-year community order, which includes up to 15 rehabilitation activity days and 100 hours of unpaid work within the following year.
Furthermore, he is required to pay a surcharge of £114 and prosecution costs of £85, and he will be registered as a sex offender for five years.
The court noted that Smalley had a previous conviction in 2014 for a similar offense.
He was allowed a pre-sentence report before sentencing, and his defense argued for leniency, which was granted.
The case was reported as part of a broader effort to combat online grooming and child exploitation.
