GAVIN ROSS FROM FORFAR SENTENCED FOR SEX OFFENCES AND ONLINE SCAMMING INVOLVING HOLLYWOOD STAR JENNIFER ANISTON

A man from Forfar, Gavin Ross, has been involved in a series of disturbing sexual misconducts and bizarre online scams, leading to his recent conviction and sentencing. The court heard that Ross, who is already serving time for multiple previous offences, was caught engaging in inappropriate and sexually explicit behaviour while being transported to court. His actions included making lewd noises and verbal comments directed at a female prison officer, which he admitted were intended for his own sexual gratification or to cause her distress.

According to court records, Ross, aged 44, was being moved from a local police station to Forfar Sheriff Court when he caused a disturbance. Witnesses and the prosecution described how he shouted, made sexual noises, and refused to cease his inappropriate conduct despite being warned. The incident occurred around 7:30 am, when Ross was being led out of his cell. He began to chant the name of a female staff member, repeatedly saying, “Ooh… baby,” while simultaneously grabbing his penis through his clothing and making sexual remarks directed at her.

Prosecutor Alan Bell detailed that Ross’s behaviour was not limited to verbal misconduct. He was observed looking at the female employee in a sexual manner and physically engaging in indecent acts. Following this, Ross was searched and transported to Forfar Sheriff Court, where he further admitted to exposing himself to police officers and bombarding emergency services with nonsensical queries.

In a bizarre twist, Ross also revealed that he had fallen victim to an online scam where he was duped into believing he was communicating with Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston, famous for her role as Rachel Green in the iconic US sitcom. The court was told that Ross had sent money to an online scammer pretending to be the actress, in exchange for photos, a clear indication of his vulnerable state and impaired judgment. His solicitor, Nick Markowski, described Ross’s behaviour as “dissident in nature,” attributing his actions to a history of head injuries sustained in an accident in 1999. Social workers had even suggested a brain scan to investigate his “bizarre” conduct.

Ross’s criminal record is extensive, including previous incidents where he exposed himself in public, such as standing at the side of the A90 and rubbing his nipples while staring through shop windows in Forfar. He has also been jailed for harassing schoolchildren and was caught mooning police officers after they seized his sound system. His latest offences resulted in a 46-week custodial sentence, which was reduced due to his guilty plea prior to trial. He was also ordered to remain on the sex offenders register for ten years.

Sheriff Clair McLachlan emphasized the seriousness of Ross’s conduct, stating that there was no alternative but to impose a custodial sentence. Ross’s address was listed as Strathmore Avenue in Forfar, and his lengthy history of sexual offences underscores the pattern of disturbing behaviour that has led to his current incarceration.
