COLCHESTER SEX OFFENDER SPARED PRISON AFTER COVERTLY WATCHING WOMAN FOR GRATIFICATION
A SEX offender who covertly watched a woman for his sexual pleasure has been spared an immediate prison sentence.
The court heard that Gavin Jones Caspian, of Berechurch Road, Colchester, was "sexually gratified" by observing his victim in Colchester.
The crimes took place between August 11 and 13, 2020.
It was revealed that Caspian began his misconduct on August 11, 2020, when he observed his victim undertaking a "private act" while knowing she did not consent to being watched.
The court was informed that his acts were made more serious because he was watching to gain sexual gratification.
Additionally, on August 13, Caspian disclosed private sexual photographs and videos of the same woman without her consent.
Caspian admitted to these crimes and was ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register and will be known to police for five years.
The court sentenced him to 18 weeks in prison, suspended for two years, and ordered him to be electronically monitored until July 25.
He is also required to undertake a 29-day program, a 30-day rehabilitation, 200 hours of unpaid work, and a restraining order to avoid locations where the victim may be.
Caspian was additionally ordered to pay a surcharge of £263.
